DPS GUIDELINES

DPS are a committed investigation team who strive in our endeavours to find answers to what are until now unexplained questions.

This however inevitably involves investigations late at night in some sensitive areas, murder sites, mass graves, people’s homes etc.  It is therefore necessary that we have a number of guidelines that should be adhered to at all times.

If an incident occurs due to a guideline not being adhered to you will be requested to immediately leave the investigation.

These are:

No one to be at an investigation under the influence of drink or drugs.

No alcohol or drugs to be taken by any member to an investigation.

Any ‘guest’ should inform a DPS member of any medical conditions that may pose a problem i.e. diabetes, epilepsy, asthma etc. and any medication that may be required in case of an emergency.

Follow instruction.

Always ‘buddy’ up when patrolling a site, this is good practice as two pairs of eyes and ears are better than one!

If you experience something tell the person at base camp so it can be recorded.

Return any DPS equipment in the same condition as when it was allocated.

Stay within the designated site, as we do not always have permission to go into adjacent areas.

Be respectful of the site, it may be someone’s final resting place!

Do not take anything from the site.

Leave the site in the same condition as when we arrived.

Bring hot drinks and any food with you; take any rubbish home!

Dress appropriately for the conditions.

Any equipment that is supplied by an individual is their responsibility and not that of DPS.

Have fun, but be aware that any sites neighbours may not appreciate a group of people screaming in the middle of the night!

Be tolerant and respectful of peoples beliefs.

Don’t be afraid to ask!
